A New Approach to EducationGreen Schools
The Green Schools Club at ETSS Wicklow is dedicated to promoting sustainability and environmental awareness within our school community. Meeting every Friday at lunchtime, the club provides a space for students to discuss ways to make the school more eco-friendly and take action on important environmental issues.
A huge milestone has been achieved this year, as the club has successfully secured ETSS Wicklow’s first-ever Green Flag! This prestigious award, granted by the Green Schools Programme, recognises the club’s commitment to sustainability and marks an important step forward in our school’s environmental journey.
The Green Schools Club works on a new theme every two years, tackling key topics such as waste management, energy conservation, and biodiversity. Their efforts include running awareness campaigns, implementing green initiatives, and making tangible changes to improve the school’s environmental impact.
With this incredible achievement, the club is more motivated than ever to continue making ETSS Wicklow a greener, more sustainable place. New members are always welcome to join and be part of this positive change!
